The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has joined the nationwide clean-up exercise as part of efforts to restore sanitation and promote a cleaner Ghana.
The IGP participated in the exercise alongside the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, and members of the Police Management Board.
The participation of the police leadership formed part of President John Dramani Mahama’s directive for a two-day national clean-up exercise aimed at clearing waste, desilting drains, and addressing the sanitation challenges worsened by recent flooding.
The exercise brought together citizens, state institutions, security agencies, and other stakeholders across the country to support efforts to reduce flood risks and improve environmental cleanliness.
The Ghana Police Service said the involvement of its top leadership demonstrates its commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for all Ghanaians.
The Service also encouraged the public to maintain responsible sanitation practices beyond the exercise to ensure sustainable cleanliness in communities
