Telecommunications company MTN Ghana has announced significant reductions in its fibre broadband prices following engagements with the government over the need for more affordable and reliable internet services.
The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, disclosed the development in a post on X on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, stating that MTN had responded to calls for improved broadband affordability.
“You demanded. We engaged. @MTNGhana has responded.” the Minister wrote.
According to Mr. George, the monthly cost of MTN’s unlimited 100 Mbps fibre broadband package has been reduced from GHS987 to GHS299.

He added that customers can now access a 300 Mbps unlimited broadband package for GHS444, while a 500 Mbps unlimited package is available for GHS999.
The Minister expressed appreciation to the management and staff of MTN Ghana for responding positively to calls for cheaper and more reliable fibre broadband services.
“I want to express my gratitude to the management and staff of MTN who have heeded our call for more affordable, stable and reliable fibre broadband,” he said.
He assured that the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations would continue working to promote better digital services and packages for Ghanaians.

“From the @MoCDTI, we will continue to push for better service packages for the Ghanaian people,” Mr. George added.
The development forms part of ongoing efforts to improve internet accessibility and support Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
