The Minister for Works and Housing, Ahmed Ibrahim, has undertaken a familiarisation visit to the Achimota-Abofu area in the Accra metropolis to assess progress on major storm drain projects being constructed under the Greater Accra Resilient Integrated Development (GARID) project.
The visit, undertaken on Thursday, formed part of the Minister’s efforts to familiarise himself with ongoing infrastructure projects under the Ministry and assess their progress on the ground.
Mr Ibrahim inspected the ongoing construction works and engaged with stakeholders on the implementation of the storm drain projects.
The GARID project in collaboration with the World Bank is aimed at improving drainage infrastructure and strengthening flood resilience in communities within the Greater Accra Region.
The Minister’s visit is expected to help identify challenges affecting the projects and support efforts to ensure their timely and effective completion.
