The Minister for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has shared an update on major infrastructure projects underway at the Accra International Airport (AIA) in Accra.
The update comes after President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday cut the sod for the construction of a multi-tier, large-capacity car park and hospitality facilities to serve Terminal 3 at the airport.
According to Mr Ofosu Kwakye, the latest photographs also provide a glimpse of another major project—the construction of a concourse linking Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
President Mahama previously cut the sod for the concourse project as part of efforts to improve connectivity between the airport’s terminals and enhance passenger convenience.
The concourse is expected to strengthen the operational integration of Terminals 2 and 3 while improving the overall passenger experience at Ghana’s main international gateway.
The multi-tier car park and hospitality facilities, meanwhile, form part of efforts to expand airport infrastructure and respond to growing passenger and vehicular traffic.
Mr Ofosu Kwakye described the projects as part of the government’s broader efforts to modernise infrastructure at the airport and improve facilities for travellers and other airport users.
He explained that the ongoing developments signal renewed investment in Ghana’s aviation infrastructure, with the government positioning the airport to meet increasing demand and strengthen its role as a key gateway for international travel and commerce.
