Minister for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has dismissed rumours that the Asuokor Bridge project in the Bono Region has been abandoned, saying work on the project has taken shape.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the Minister shared photographs showing progress on the bridge project and said the development demonstrated that the project was ongoing.

“The President’s promise is being kept!” Mr. Ofosu Kwakye stated in the post.
His comments come amid reports and rumours suggesting that work on the Asuokor Bridge had been abandoned.

The photographs shared by the Minister showed ongoing construction activities at the project site, in an apparent effort to provide an update on the progress of the project.
The Minister’s update on the ongoing is expected to reassure residents and other stakeholders about the government’s commitment to completing the project and fulfilling its promise to improve infrastructure in the area.
