The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Edmond Kombat, has held discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) aimed at strengthening collaboration to support domestic crude oil refining and the long-term sustainability of the refinery.
The courtesy meeting formed part of broader efforts to reposition TOR for sustained operations and align its activities with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of allocating Ghanaian crude oil for domestic refining.
During the engagement, the two institutions discussed the role they are expected to play in achieving the government’s objective of increasing local crude oil processing to enhance energy security and create greater value within the petroleum sector.
The discussions also covered issues of mutual interest, including crude oil supply, energy infrastructure development, and other strategic priorities critical to the refinery’s long-term operations.
The meeting provided an opportunity for TOR and GNPC to exchange perspectives on developments within the energy sector and explore practical areas for deeper collaboration in building a sustainable and competitive downstream petroleum industry.
Both institutions described the engagement as productive and reaffirmed their commitment to working together to advance government’s vision for domestic refining and strengthen Ghana’s energy value chain.
