The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has announced that Cabinet has approved a series of major industrial policies aimed at accelerating Ghana’s manufacturing sector and advancing the country’s industrialisation agenda.
Speaking at the Türkiye Africa Investment Forum and Exhibition in Accra on Thursday, June 25, the Minister said the newly approved policies target key sectors including textiles and garments, pharmaceuticals, component manufacturing, and agribusiness, creating a more conducive environment for businesses and investors.
According to her, the approvals underscore government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as a competitive destination for trade, investment, and industrial growth, adding that the country’s industrialisation drive continues to gather momentum.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare said the new policy framework is expected to strengthen local manufacturing, promote value addition, and attract increased domestic and foreign investment into priority sectors of the economy.
She also welcomed the participation of Turkish investors at the forum, describing the event as an important platform for deepening economic cooperation and strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Ghana and Türkiye.
The Minister encouraged investors to take advantage of the expanding opportunities within Ghana’s economy, particularly in the textiles and garments industry, and urged participants to use the forum to establish concrete business partnerships and explore new investment opportunities.
