President John Dramani Mahama is set to embark on a two-day working visit to the Volta Region as part of his nationwide “Resetting Ghana Tour” aimed at engaging citizens, inspecting development projects, and assessing government interventions across the country.
The visit, scheduled for Thursday, July 16 to Friday, July 17, 2026, is expected to focus on infrastructure development, healthcare, education, security, and citizen engagement.
According to the Volta Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the tour will provide an opportunity for the President to interact with residents, listen to their concerns, inspect ongoing projects, and commission completed facilities.
On the first day of the visit, President Mahama will perform the sod-cutting ceremony for the 24-Hour Economy Market at Juapong, a flagship initiative designed to promote continuous commercial activities, create jobs, and support local economic growth.
The President will also inspect the newly completed 1,500-seater Multipurpose Assembly Hall at the Peki College of Education, as well as ongoing road projects including the Asikuma–Anyirawase Road and the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) By-pass and Anyirawase–Ho Road.
Other activities on the first day include an inspection of the Multipurpose Laboratory Project at the UHAS Sokode Campus and participation in the Free Primary Health Care Programme durbar at the Ho Municipal Hospital.
On Friday, July 17, President Mahama will inspect the Ho Sports Stadium as part of efforts to improve sports infrastructure and promote youth development.
He is also expected to hold a “Resetting Ghana Citizens’ Engagement” at the Ho Technical University, where traditional authorities, students, religious leaders, civil society groups, business representatives, and the media will engage government on policies and development priorities.
The President will further open the newly completed Akatsi North District Police Headquarters at Ave-Dakpa before concluding the tour with an inspection of the Ho–Denu Road Project.
The NDC Volta Regional Secretariat said the visit reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, accountability, improved public service delivery, and sustainable development.
