The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has unveiled the new Head Office Complex of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
The new facility marks what the Minister described as a renewed commitment to effective regulation, consumer protection and improved utility services across the country.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Jinapor commended the Board, Management and staff of PURC for completing the project, noting that the new office would provide an appropriate environment for the Commission to strengthen its regulatory functions.
He assured the Commission of government’s continued support as it works to promote accountability, improve the performance of utility service providers and safeguard the public interest.
According to the Minister, the significance of the new facility should ultimately be measured not by its physical appearance, but by the quality of services delivered to Ghanaian consumers.
“The true measure of this new home, however, will be the quality of service delivered to the Ghanaian consumer,” he said.
Mr. Jinapor congratulated PURC on the milestone and urged the Commission to remain focused on its mandate of ensuring efficient, reliable and consumer-oriented utility services.
