The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has outlined a five-point agenda aimed at deepening economic and diplomatic relations between Ghana and Canada through enhanced trade, investment, and long-term partnerships.
Speaking at the Beyond the World Cup Power Breakfast Business Meeting in Toronto, His Majesty identified key priorities including the mobilisation of diaspora capital, strengthening investor confidence, promoting youth-led innovation, and creating structured platforms to facilitate trade and investment between the two countries.
He emphasised the need for practical frameworks that would translate goodwill into concrete economic outcomes, particularly through partnerships that support sustainable development and shared prosperity.
From the perspective of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the proposals were described as a practical blueprint for improving investor confidence, easing market entry processes, and advancing mutually beneficial investment relations between Ghana and Canada.
The event, organised by the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Canadian High Commission in Ghana, brought together public and private sector leaders to explore opportunities in sectors such as energy, real estate, mining, and broader economic cooperation.
