Residents of the North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region are preparing to welcome President John Dramani Mahama as he visits the area today to perform the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a new 24-hour economy market at Juapong.
The project forms part of the government’s broader agenda to promote round-the-clock economic activity, create jobs, and improve trading infrastructure across the country.
The proposed market is expected to serve as a major commercial hub for traders and businesses within Juapong and surrounding communities, while supporting the implementation of the government’s flagship 24-hour economy policy.
Ahead of the President’s arrival, excitement has gripped residents and local authorities, with many expressing optimism that the project will stimulate economic growth and enhance livelihoods in the constituency.
The North Tongu Constituency led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa is expected to host a number of government officials, traditional leaders, party executives, and community members for the ceremony, which marks the official commencement of work on the market project.
