President John Dramani Mahama has chaired a meeting of the National Security Council to review government’s response to the recent floods that affected seven regions across the country.
The meeting focused on updates from the Post-Flood Mitigation Task Force and its various subcommittees on ongoing emergency interventions, recovery efforts and measures being implemented to strengthen Ghana’s preparedness against future flooding.
The Council assessed progress made in supporting affected communities and examined long-term strategies aimed at reducing the impact of flood disasters and improving national resilience.
Government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives, assisting residents affected by the floods and ensuring the implementation of sustainable solutions to address recurring flooding challenges.
