The Chief Executive Officer of defunct Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, is expected to continue his testimony in the ongoing criminal trial involving the gold dealership company on Friday, July 17, 2026.
The development follows the conclusion of the case management conference at the Accra High Court, where the trial judge, Justice Sedinam Awo Kwadam, confirmed that NAM1 had complied with an earlier order to file his witness statement by July 13.
At Monday’s proceedings, Justice Kwadam adjourned the case to July 17, when the businessman is expected to mount the witness box and present his defense.
The trial relates to allegations surrounding the operations of Menzgold Ghana Limited and Brew Marketing Consult.
NAM1 is facing 39 counts, including selling gold without a licence, operating a deposit-taking business without a licence, inducing investors, defrauding by false pretence, fraudulent breach of trust and money laundering.
The charges are linked to the collapse of Menzgold’s operations, which left thousands of customers demanding the payment of their locked-up investments.
Speaking to the media after the court session, Convener of the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold, Fred Forson, expressed optimism that the trial would soon reach a conclusion.
He said the group was hopeful that the next stage of proceedings, including cross-examination, would help bring finality to the long-running case.
The trial continues as the court awaits NAM1’s appearance to give further evidence in his defense.
