The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant is set for a scheduled maintenance shutdown from August 16 to August 30, 2025, during which Ghana Gas will temporarily halt gas supply.
This essential maintenance aims to ensure the plant’s continued safe and efficient operation, involving thorough inspections, repairs, and upgrades to critical equipment and systems.
In a statement by the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, they are working closely with major power sector stakeholders and also implemented robust measures to prevent any disruption in electricity supply throughout the shutdown.
These include the strategic use of alternative fuel sources to maintain a steady and reliable power flow nationwide.
Richmond Rockson, the Ministry’s Head of Communication, reassured the public that the government remains fully committed to uninterrupted power supply and will provide timely updates on maintenance progress.
The statement noted, “The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved a request by Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. (Ghana Gas) to undertake a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (Plant) from 16th August 2025 to 30th August 2025.
