The management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Edmund Kombat, has engaged the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, to discuss developments and challenges confronting the national refinery.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the TOR management to brief the sector Minister on progress made in efforts to rebuild and reposition the refinery to support Ghana’s energy security.
The management also discussed key developments at the refinery and highlighted challenges requiring strategic attention and support to sustain the ongoing revitalisation efforts.
Mr Kombat and his team expressed appreciation to Dr Jinapor for his leadership and support towards the redevelopment of TOR and broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s energy sector.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the refinery’s management and the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition to address operational challenges and position TOR for a stronger and more sustainable future.
The management said it remained committed to advancing the work of rebuilding and repositioning the refinery as an important component of Ghana’s petroleum downstream infrastructure.
The meeting comes as government continues efforts to strengthen domestic refining capacity and improve Ghana’s energy security.
