The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Mr. Eric Adjei, has led a strategic visit to Columbus, Ohio, USA, to explore international partnerships aimed at boosting Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mr. Adjei was accompanied by Mr. Kwame Ohene-Ntow, NEIP’s Director for Business Support and Development. The visit was part of a broader government delegation effort to mobilize support for homegrown innovations and attract investment into Ghana’s startup space.

The discussions in Ohio focused on four key pillars: the development of innovation hubs to support startups, modernizing agriculture with a focus on youth participation, creating exchange programs for knowledge transfer, and improving access to funding for early-stage businesses.

“This visit underscores our commitment to positioning Ghanaian entrepreneurs on the global stage,” Mr. Adjei said. “We are building the foundation for a resilient, innovation-driven economy that gives young people the tools to lead and succeed.”

The delegation also promoted President John Dramani Mahama’s flagship initiative, The Adwumawura Programme, which aims to create 10,000 youth-led businesses annually. The programme is a central feature of the government’s vision to empower the next generation of Ghanaian innovators.

Mr. Adjei stressed the importance of international collaboration in achieving this vision and called on development partners, private investors, and institutions to support Ghana’s entrepreneurial drive.

“We believe in partnerships that create value and transform lives. Our youth have the talent—what they need now is opportunity, support, and a platform to thrive,” he added.
