The Member of Parliament for Tema West, James Enu, has pledged support for Three Dreamer Company following extensive damage caused by the recent floods that swept through parts of the Greater Accra Region.
The MP delegated a team from his office, led by Williams Ebo Enu, alongside Maxwell Aidoo, Lewis Sampson Krah, and other officials, to visit the company’s factory at the Spintex Community 18 Roundabout near the Motorway to assess the extent of the destruction.
According to the assessment, floodwaters breached sections of the factory’s walls, inundated the premises and destroyed products worth millions of cedis stored in the company’s warehouse.
Three Dreamer Company is one of the major manufacturing firms in Tema West, employing more than 1,500 people and producing a range of household products, including toffees, chewing gum, biscuits, tissues and plastic items.
The visit comes after videos circulated on social media showing members of the public retrieving products from floodwaters.
According to the MP, the items seen in the videos had been washed away from the company’s warehouse during the flooding.
Mr. Enu expressed sympathy to the management, staff and families whose livelihoods have been affected by the disaster.
He assured the company that he would continue engaging relevant government agencies and stakeholders to mobilise support for its recovery, stressing that protecting jobs and supporting businesses impacted by natural disasters remains a key priority.
