The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has assured the Oti Regional Minister, Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, of the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to strengthening security and maintaining law and order in the region.
The IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), gave the assurance during a courtesy call on the Regional Minister as part of the Police Administration’s working visit to the Oti Region.
Hon. John Kwadwo Gyapong commended the Police Service for its efforts in maintaining peace and security in the region, particularly in the fight against armed robbery and other criminal activities.
He, however, appealed for an increase in police personnel and additional operational vehicles to enhance the capacity of the Service to effectively respond to security challenges in the region.
The Regional Minister urged the Police to remain firm and proactive in dealing with all forms of crime to ensure the safety and security of residents.
Responding, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno reaffirmed the Police Administration’s commitment to supporting the region and ensuring that residents enjoy a safe and secure environment.
He noted that the Police Service has a strong presence on the ground and would continue to intensify its operations to combat crime and bring offenders to justice.
