The Vice- Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof Christian Agyare, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in strengthening security on the university’s campus.
The meeting focused on ways technology could be deployed to improve security and address emerging threats within the university environment.
Discussions also centred on strengthening information sharing and developing more effective security systems to safeguard students, staff and other members of the university community.
Professor Agyare and the Interior Minister discussed areas of mutual interest and the need for closer collaboration between KNUST and the Ministry of the Interior in responding to evolving security challenges.
The engagement forms part of efforts to leverage technology and institutional partnerships to create a safer and more secure environment for teaching, learning and research at the university.
The proposed collaboration is expected to support the adoption of modern security solutions while enhancing coordination and information flow among relevant stakeholders.
