The Ghana Revenue Authority has assured businesses and taxpayers of continued support as torrential rains continue to disrupt economic activities in the capital and other parts of the country.
In a statement issued on June 29, 2026, the Commissioner-General of the Authority acknowledged the significant strain the severe weather conditions are placing on businesses, including disruptions to transport networks, delays in the movement of goods, and interruptions to daily commercial operations.
The Authority noted that the ongoing rainfall has created additional challenges for companies already working to meet both customer demands and regulatory obligations.
Despite the disruptions, the GRA said it has deployed dedicated teams at key ports, border posts and Taxpayer Service Centres nationwide to ensure the continuity of Customs and domestic tax services.
It added that the priority is to keep legitimate trade moving while minimizing delays and operational bottlenecks.
The Authority also emphasized that safety remains paramount, stressing that protecting lives takes precedence over business activity.
It urged employers to ensure the safety of staff as weather conditions worsen.
To help mitigate the impact of the rains, the GRA encouraged taxpayers to make greater use of its digital platforms to reduce the need for physical travel, plan ahead for logistical delays, and strictly follow safety directives issued by relevant authorities.
The statement further assured taxpayers of the Authority’s commitment to maintaining service delivery while safeguarding revenue collection needed for national development.
