Contractors working on the Cardiology Centre at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) in the Northern Region have assured the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) and hospital management that the project remains on schedule for completion by the end of August.
The assurance was given during a joint inspection of the facility by officials of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund led by its Administrator, Adwoa Oboubia Darko Opoku and the management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital to assess the progress of work.
According to the contractors, work is progressing steadily, with construction teams operating around the clock to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
They expressed confidence that the facility would be ready for use by the end of August, barring any unforeseen challenges.
When completed, the state-of-the-art Cardiology Centre is expected to significantly improve access to specialist cardiac care for residents across the Northern, Savannah, North East, Upper East and Upper West Regions, as well as parts of the Bono East Region.
The facility is expected to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances to access advanced heart care services, while strengthening healthcare delivery in northern Ghana.
