A new survey examining political preferences among voters who stayed away from the 2024 general elections, as well as self-identified NDC supporters who did not vote, shows Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson emerging as the frontrunner in both groups.
Among all registered voters who did not participate in the 2024 polls, Dr. Ato Forson leads with 34% support.
He is followed by NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia with 22%, Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu with 16%, and Julius Debrah with 11%. Professor Joshua Alabi records 3%, while Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku polled 2%.
In the same category, another listing showed Julius Debrah with 6%, suggesting variation in responses within the dataset.
Among respondents who identified as NDC supporters but also abstained from voting in the 2024 elections, Dr. Ato Forson again maintains the lead with 39%.
He is followed by Asiedu Nketia with 27%,
Haruna Iddrisu with 13%, and Julius Debrah with 11%. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang records 5%, Prof. Joshua Alabi 2%, and Eric Opoku 3%.
The poll by Musah Dankwah suggests Dr. Ato Forson holds a strong lead among disengaged and abstaining voter segments, while Asiedu Nketia and Haruna Iddrisu follow as key contenders in both categories.
The data highlights shifting preferences within the party’s broader support base, particularly among voters who did not participate in the last general election.
