A high-powered delegation from the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) has conducted a working inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects and facility upgrades at Mfantsipim School, popularly known as Kwabotwe, ahead of the school’s landmark 150th anniversary celebrations.
The inspection formed part of efforts by the alumni Association to assess progress on key development projects aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, healthcare delivery and the general welfare of students.
The delegation first held a critical business review meeting with key stakeholders to evaluate the progress of the various projects before embarking on the inspection exercise.
MOBA said the review showed that all major projects were progressing as planned and were on course for completion within the scheduled timelines, subject to continued investment and support.
The inspection team was made up of alumni leaders from different generations, reflecting a collective commitment to preserving and advancing the legacy of the historic institution.
The inspection of the Kwabotwe Senior Common Entrance (KSCE) Project was led by Mr Alex Dadey (MOBA ’79), Chairman of KGL, and Ebusuapanyin Moses Baiden Jnr., Executive Chairman of Margins Group.
They were briefed on the project’s progress by Project Management Committee Member, Kofi Essel Appiah.
The team also inspected the New School Infirmary Project, led by Ebusuapanyin Moses Baiden, Executive Secretary, Divine Akaba and Project Management Committee Member, Hector Nanka-Bruce (MOBA ’75), who provided updates on efforts to improve healthcare services for students.
Additionally, the facelift projects were formally handed over to OOB Home Limited, led by contractor Mr Oswald Obrempong-Baidoo, in an event supervised by APC Chairman Captain Yamoah and Ebusuapanyin Moses Baiden Jnr.
Other members of the inspection team included Captain Yamoah (MOBA ’72), APC Chairman; Captain Forjoe (MOBA ’73), APC Fundraising Committee Chairman; James Morgan (MOBA ’77), APC Executive Secretary; and James Dadson (MOBA ’81), a member of the MOBA Executive Committee.
The delegation was received by the school’s leadership team, including Headmaster Very Rev. Ebenezer Kobina Aidoo and Deputy Headmasters Light Koomson and Michael Eduah, who engaged the team on the scope of the projects and preparations towards the Grand Durbar marking the anniversary celebration.
MOBA emphasised that the infrastructure projects form part of its broader commitment to creating a modern learning environment that supports academic excellence and character development.
The Association noted that improving health facilities, academic spaces and residential areas would help ensure that Mfantsipim continues to produce leaders equipped to serve Ghana and the world.
Guided by its philosophy, “Dwen Hwe Kan”, MOBA reaffirmed its dedication to sustaining the heritage and future growth of the 150-year-old institution.
