The Government has urged motorists in the Greater Accra Region have been urged to exercise extra caution during peak hours following the commencement of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), popularly known as Aayalolo, contra-flow system across certain corridors.
The initiative, being implemented by the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, is expected to affect traffic movements during designated peak periods.
Motorists have therefore been advised to remain alert and exercise caution, particularly between 6:00am and 9:00am in the morning and 4:00pm and 8:00pm in the evening.
The Government advisory is intended to help motorists adjust to the contra-flow arrangement and reduce the risk of traffic incidents as buses operate under the system.
Motorists are encouraged to pay close attention to road signs, traffic management measures and instructions from personnel deployed to regulate traffic during the peak periods.
The public is also advised to plan journeys accordingly and exercise patience as the Aayalolo BRT contra-flow system gets underway.
