The Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition Richard Gyan-Mensah, has led an initiative to provide furniture and other educational materials to Senior High Schools(SHSs) in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.

Mr Gyan-Mensah, accompanied by the District Chief Executive for Gomoa West, Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, distributed mono desks and other educational materials to selected schools as part of efforts to improve the learning environment for students.

Mozano Senior High School received 400 mono desks and 74 bunk beds, while College of Music Senior High School received 200 mono desks.

Gomoa Mampong Technical Institute also received 100 mono desks, with Gomoa Senior High Technical School receiving 300 desks.

Apam Senior High School had previously received 500 desks under the initiative.

Gomoa Adaa Technical Institute and selected Junior High Schools in the district are expected to benefit from the next phase of the distribution.

The intervention forms part of a broader programme to distribute 3,000 mono desks, 100 dual desks, 100 bunk beds and 70,000 exercise books to schools across Gomoa West.

Mr Gyan-Mensah said he had also previously facilitated the installation of solar all-in-one streetlights at Senior High Schools in the district to improve safety and security within the school communities.

Addressing students, the Deputy Minister encouraged them to study diligently, maintain discipline and develop strong character traits that would help them succeed in the corporate world and society.

He also commended heads of institutions, teachers and other staff for their dedication to educating and shaping the future of young people.

Mr Gyan-Mensah reaffirmed his commitment to investing in education and creating better opportunities for children in Gomoa West.

He further appealed to individuals, businesses and organisations to support efforts to develop education and other sectors of the constituency.
