The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has announced that the Eezzy Group Foundation has made a significant contribution towards the organisation of the 42nd National Farmers Day celebration as part of its corporate support for the event.
According to the Minister, the Foundation has donated a brand-new pickup truck to be presented to the Overall National Best Farmer during this year’s awards ceremony.
In addition, the Foundation has provided 20 motorcycles to support various award categories as part of efforts to recognise and reward outstanding farmers across the country.
The Eezzy Group Foundation has also donated a modern farming tractor aimed at equipping deserving farmers with essential machinery and promoting agricultural mechanisation.
Mr. Opoku described the contributions as a major boost to the National Farmers Day celebrations and an important gesture towards recognising the invaluable role farmers play in Ghana’s economy.
He noted that the donations would help ensure that Ghanaian farmers receive the recognition and honour they deserve for their contribution to the country’s agricultural development and the government’s agriculture-led economic transformation agenda.
The National Farmers Day celebration is held annually to acknowledge the efforts of farmers, fishers and other stakeholders whose work contributes significantly to food security, job creation and economic growth in Ghana.
This year’s event marks the 42nd edition of the celebration and is expected to bring together farmers, policymakers, agribusiness players and development partners from across the country.
