A total of 1,500 bags of fertiliser have been handed over to chiefs, Assembly Members and opinion leaders in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region under the government’s Feed Ghana Fertilizer initiative rolled out by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture under the leadership of Eric Opoku.
The initiative forms part of efforts to support farmers with essential agricultural inputs and boost food production across the country.
The fertiliser was handed over to traditional leaders, local government representatives and other community opinion leaders for onward distribution to farmers in the district.
The intervention is expected to help reduce the cost of farm inputs for beneficiaries while improving crop yields and strengthening food security in the Sissala West District.
The Feed Ghana initiative is part of the Minsirty’s broader efforts to revitalise the agricultural sector through increased support for farmers, improved access to inputs and enhanced domestic food production.
