Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has been confirmed as one of the co-headliners for the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA World Cup final.
FIFA announced that Bieber will join global music icons Madonna, Shakira and South Korean group BTS for the 11-minute performance scheduled to take place during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
The halftime show, produced in partnership with Global Citizen and curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, will mark the first time a musical performance will be staged during the final of the world’s biggest football tournament.
FIFA also revealed that Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay will perform as part of the historic event.
According to FIFA, the show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at expanding access to quality education and football opportunities for children globally.
The initiative has so far raised more than US$50 million, including a contribution of US$1 from every ticket sold for FIFA World Cup 2026 matches.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is set to be played on Sunday, July 19, at the New York New Jersey Stadium, with the halftime performance expected to form part of a landmark celebration of football and global entertainment.
