The Ministry of Food and Agriculture is set to distribute fertiliser and agricultural drones as part of efforts to modernise farming practices, improve productivity and strengthen food security across the country.
The distribution exercise will take place at the forecourt of the Ministry on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, and will be led by the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku.
The initiative forms part of government’s broader agenda to enhance agricultural production through the adoption of modern technologies and the provision of critical inputs to farmers.
Agricultural drones are increasingly being used to support precision farming by assisting with crop monitoring, fertiliser application, pest control and data collection, helping farmers improve efficiency and reduce production costs.
Officials say the distribution of fertiliser will also support farmers during the current farming season by improving access to essential inputs needed to increase crop yields.
The exercise is expected to benefit farmers and agricultural institutions across the country while advancing efforts to transform the sector through innovation and mechanisation.
The Ministry has indicated that the programme underscores government’s commitment to improving agricultural productivity, enhancing food security and creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers.
The event is expected to bring together officials of the Ministry, stakeholders in the agricultural sector, farmers and development partners to witness the rollout of the initiative.
