The Deputy Minister for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has participated in the 51st Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF) held in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
The session, which took place from July 7 to 12, 2026, brought together parliamentarians from Francophone and partner countries to discuss issues of mutual interest and strengthen international parliamentary cooperation.
As part of Ghana’s parliamentary delegation, Madam Affo-Toffey also took part in meetings of the Network of Women Parliamentarians, where participants deliberated on challenges affecting women and considered measures to promote women’s empowerment.
The Network focused on advancing resolutions aimed at supporting women’s entrepreneurship, improving economic opportunities and strengthening initiatives that enable women to play a greater role in national development.
The Deputy Minister reaffirmed her commitment to supporting programmes that create more opportunities for women while contributing to Ghana’s active participation in global parliamentary engagements.
She noted that such platforms provide an avenue for countries to share experiences, develop solutions and promote policies that advance inclusive development.
