His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse, joined Nana Kodwo Conduah VI, Edinamanhene, and the chiefs and people of Edina for the grand climax of the Edina Bakatue festival 2026 held in Elmina.
The Ga Mantse, accompanied by a distinguished entourage, participated in the colourful celebration, which brought together traditional leaders, community members and visitors to commemorate one of Ghana’s important cultural festivals.
The Edina Bakatue festival, celebrated annually by the people of Elmina in the Central Region, marks the symbolic opening of the Benya Lagoon and highlights the community’s rich fishing heritage, history and traditions.
The festival climax featured traditional rites, cultural displays, drumming, dancing and a gathering of chiefs and dignitaries to celebrate the heritage and identity of the Edina people.
The presence of the Ga Mantse underscored the strong bonds among Ghana’s traditional authorities and the importance of preserving cultural values and strengthening unity among traditional communities.
Nana Kodwo Conduah VI and the chiefs and people of Edina welcomed the Ga Mantse and his delegation, as they celebrated the festival under the theme of promoting cultural heritage, community development and social cohesion
