President John Dramani Mahama has donated relief items, including washing powder, washing soap, baby diapers and other essential supplies, to the management of the 37 Military Hospital and the Maamobi Polyclinic to support victims affected by the June 29 flood disaster.
The items, according to the President, were donated by private organisations as part of efforts to complement government’s response and provide assistance to vulnerable individuals and families impacted by the floods.
President Mahama said the support forms part of broader interventions aimed at easing the difficulties faced by affected communities and ensuring that those in need receive essential supplies during the recovery period.
The donated items are expected to assist the two health facilities in supporting flood-affected persons who require care and relief assistance.
The June 29 floods caused widespread damage in parts of Accra, affecting homes, businesses and public infrastructure, prompting government and private sector actors to mobilise support for affected communities
