Ghana’s Ambassador to Brazil, Mr. Nii Amasah Namoale, has reaffirmed the country’s commitment to African unity, cooperation and shared development during a meeting of the Group of African Heads of Mission held in San Marco on June 23, 2026.
Delivering the welcome address, Ambassador Namoale said Ghana was honoured to host the meeting, describing it as an important platform for strengthening diplomatic relations, exchanging views on issues of common interest and advancing the continent’s collective priorities.
He noted that since assuming office in September 2025, his engagements with fellow diplomats had reinforced his belief that the African Group remains one of the most united regional blocs within the international diplomatic community.
The Ambassador highlighted the group’s core values of unity, solidarity, mutual respect and cooperation, stressing that these principles are essential to promoting Africa’s interests and ensuring the continent speaks with one voice on global issues.
He also expressed Ghana’s appreciation to African countries and members of the African Union for supporting the country’s initiative at the United Nations, which resulted in the adoption of a resolution recognising the trafficking and enslavement of Africans as crimes against humanity.
According to him, Ghana recently hosted a High-Level Consultative Conference from June 17 to 19, 2026, to discuss the implementation of the resolution, including issues relating to reparative justice, remembrance and international cooperation.
Ambassador Namoale further outlined key government initiatives, including the “Big Push” infrastructure programme, aimed at expanding roads, bridges, healthcare, education and energy infrastructure, as well as the 24-Hour Economy Programme, which seeks to promote industrialisation, increase productivity and create jobs.
He reiterated Ghana’s commitment to attracting investment, assuring the diplomatic community that the country remains open for business and dedicated to creating an enabling environment for trade, innovation and economic growth.
The Ambassador announced that the Embassy of Ghana, in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), will host the 2026 Investing in Ghana Webinar Series on August 12 to showcase investment opportunities across various sectors of the economy.
He also congratulated African countries participating in the ongoing FIFA World Cup, describing their performances as a source of pride for the continent.
