Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has been ranked the sixth-best goalkeeper at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in FIFA’s latest goalkeeper power rankings.
The Hearts of Oak shot-stopper earned a rating of 7.61, placing him among the tournament’s top-performing goalkeepers.
Asare had previously occupied fifth position before Portugal’s Diogo Costa moved ahead with a rating of 7.73 following his performance against Colombia.
The current top 10 rankings are led by Paraguay’s Orlando Gill with a rating of 8.10, followed by Switzerland’s Gregor Kobel (8.05), Iran’s Alireza Beiranvand (7.81), Portugal’s Diogo Costa (7.73), Egypt’s Mostafa Mohamed (7.62), and Ghana’s Benjamin Asare (7.61).
Curaçao’s Eloy Room (7.55), Cape Verde’s Vozinha (7.39), and Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Al-Owais (7.39) complete the list.
Asare has been one of Ghana’s standout performers at the tournament, producing several crucial saves throughout the group stage.
He kept a clean sheet in the Black Stars’ 1-0 victory over Panama and delivered impressive performances against England and Croatia.
The 32-year-old is expected to play a pivotal role when Ghana takes on Colombia in the Round of 32 on July 3, as the Black Stars aim to secure a place in the next stage of the competition.
