Media personality Captain Smart has called on the sitting Member of Prliament for Gomoa West and Deputy Minister Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah to voluntarily step aside ahead of the upcoming parliamentary primary, warning that he risks suffering what he described as a humiliating defeat if he contests.
Captain Smart made the remarks while commenting on the political prospects of the MP arguing that an honourable withdrawal before the primary would be a better option.
According to him, Gyan-Mensah should carefully assess the political landscape and avoid entering a contest where he believes the outcome could be unfavourable.
He urged political actors to recognise changing dynamics within their constituencies and make decisions that preserve their reputation and future political ambitions.
The comments come ahead of internal party parliamentary primary, where aspirants are expected to compete for the opportunity to represent their respective parties in future elections.
