A Ghanaian woman living in the United Kingdom has drawn attention online after sharing her observations on how residents are responding to ongoing flooding in parts of the country.
In a video circulating on social media, she is seen walking through flood-affected areas while describing the situation.
She noted that despite the disruption caused by rising water levels, many residents appear calm and are not openly blaming authorities for the situation.
According to her, the response she is witnessing in the UK contrasts with what she says is often seen in Ghana, where flooding incidents are typically followed by public criticism of government institutions and demands for immediate accountability.
She added that affected residents in the UK seem more focused on coping with the situation, observing safety measures, and adjusting to disruptions in transport and daily activities rather than engaging in public complaints.
The video comes amid reports of heavy rainfall in parts of the UK, which has resulted in localized flooding and temporary disruption in some communities.
Her remarks have since sparked online discussions about differences in public attitudes toward disaster response, civic behaviour, and expectations of government intervention during emergencies.
