The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old suspect in connection with the murder of a 46-year-old woman at Nana Ango Hill in Tarkwa.

The victim, identified as Juliana Boata, was allegedly attacked and killed at her residence on Monday, October 26, 2026.

In a statement dated Thursday, October 29, the Police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect had complained of illness and visited a hospital for treatment at about 12:30 p.m. on the day of the incident before returning home.

The suspect was reportedly the only person who remained in the house with the deceased.

Police investigations further suggest that the suspect attacked Boata in her room with a wooden plank, struck her on the head and strangled her, resulting in her death.

The body has since been conveyed to the Tarkwa Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The Police said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and ensure that anyone found culpable is dealt with in accordance with the law.

“The Command assures the public that it will expedite the investigation and ensure that anyone found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” the statement said.

The release was signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police Beatrice Turkson, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Western Central Regional Police Command.
