The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mamaga Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has launched the 2026 December in GH events calendar, setting the stage for a month-long celebration of Ghanaian culture, heritage, tourism and creativity.
The festival, which will run from December 1, 2026, to January 3, 2027, will be held under the theme “Ghana to the World.”
The initiative forms part of the government’s Black Star Experience tourism programme, which seeks to showcase Ghana’s cultural heritage, entertainment, hospitality and growing creative industries to international audiences.
The December in GH festival is expected to bring together visitors and locals for a series of festive-season experiences highlighting Ghana’s traditions, creative talent and tourism attractions.
Through the initiative, Ghana aims to strengthen its profile as a destination for cultural tourism while creating opportunities to showcase local talent and promote the country’s creative economy.
The 2026 edition will extend into the New Year, offering a month-long platform for celebrating Ghanaian identity and sharing the country’s cultural experiences with the world.
The launch signals the start of preparations for the festive season, with the theme “Ghana to the World” placing Ghana’s culture and tourism offerings at the centre of the campaign.
