The New Patriotic Party is set to elect new national officers on Saturday, September 19, 2026, during its National Delegates Conference.
This was announced by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, in a statement on Wednesday, July 8.
According to him, the conference will enable delegates to, among other matters, elect National Officers of the party in accordance with Article 10(1) of the NPP Constitution.
“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fixed Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for its National Delegates Conference, at which delegates will, among other matters, elect National Officers of the Party pursuant to Article 10(1) of the Party Constitution,” the statement said.
Mr. Kodua Frimpong noted that the decision was taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and subsequently approved by the National Council during separate meetings held on June 25, 2026.
Ahead of the conference, he said the party had also opened the process for proposals for amendments to its constitution.
All proposed amendments are expected to be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the party’s national headquarters or electronically by Friday, July 17, 2026.
The NPP encouraged members and stakeholders to take advantage of the constitutional review process by submitting proposals that would “further strengthen the Party’s structures, enhance its internal democratic processes, and promote effective governance.”
The party also reaffirmed its commitment to “constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law, ensuring adherence to the Party Constitution and its democratic traditions.”
