Renowned Ghanaian actress and TV host Nana Ama McBrown has revealed that following her divorce from husband Maxwell Mensah, she has decided never to marry again. The couple ended their 12-year marriage amicably, citing emotional exhaustion as the reason for parting ways.
In an interview with TV3, McBrown reflected on the lessons from her marriage, emphasizing that while she still holds affection for her former husband and maintains a good relationship with him and his family, she has no plans to remarry.
“I can give birth again, but I won’t marry again,” McBrown said, describing the divorce as mutual, peaceful, and without bitterness. She encouraged the public to celebrate the longevity of marriages, even among celebrities, rather than judging their endings.
She also highlighted the lasting joy from her union: their daughter, whom she called a priceless gift. “She is the greatest gift from my marriage,” McBrown noted.
Addressing past rumors about marital difficulties, McBrown clarified that the separation was driven by both partners feeling tired and emotionally drained. “We sat down, talked honestly, and agreed it was best to move on. We are the best of friends,” she explained.
The divorce, conducted under customary law, required only the consent of both families, making the process smooth and respectful. Reflecting on the experience, McBrown said it taught her the importance of self-awareness, boundaries, and cherishing what truly matters: her daughter and inner peace.
