The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has donated a range of essential items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital as part of activities marking Father’s Day and Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.
The donation, made on June 20, 2026, formed part of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at supporting patient care and promoting awareness of mental health, particularly among men.
Items presented to the hospital included mattresses, toiletries, detergents, food supplies and other necessities to assist in the facility’s day-to-day operations and improve the welfare of patients.
Speaking during the presentation, the Head of Corporate Social Relations at the NPA, Mr. Maxwell Ampadu, said the gesture reflects the Authority’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and contributing to social wellbeing beyond its core regulatory responsibilities in the downstream petroleum sector.
He noted that compassion, dignity and community support remain important values that guide the NPA’s corporate social interventions, particularly in areas that impact the lives of disadvantaged persons.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Senior Nurse Ms. Vida Tetteh expressed appreciation to the NPA for the donation and described the gesture as timely and impactful.
She indicated that the items would significantly enhance caregiving efforts and help improve conditions for patients receiving treatment at the facility.
