The event took place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and brought together senior government officials, legal practitioners, academics, traditional leaders and law students from across the country.
The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Hon. Dr. Dominic Ayine, represented the President at the ceremony. The event was also attended by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S. K. Bagbin, and the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah.
Other notable attendees included former Attorney-General Betty Mould Iddrisu, Hon. Marrietta Brew and Hon. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, alongside traditional leaders and prominent members of the legal profession.
The conference also attracted leading academics, including Prof. Peter Atudiwe Atupare, Professor and Dean of the University of Ghana School of Law, and Prof. Ernest Kofi Abotsi, Dean of the UPSA Law School.
Lawyers from various parts of Ghana attended the conference, which also drew law students from faculties across the country.
The Ghana Law Society traces its beginnings to the Law Society of Ghana (LSG), established around 2022. Since then, it has grown in membership and institutional presence, positioning itself as a professional body focused on the interests, development and welfare of lawyers in Ghana.
The maiden Annual Conference provides a platform for members of the legal profession to engage on issues affecting the profession while strengthening professional networks.
The unveiling of the society’s official logo further signals its growing institutional identity and marks a new chapter in its development.
The successful conference has established a significant milestone for the Ghana Law Society as it continues to build its presence within Ghana’s legal community.
