The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has expressed its concern and wished Madina Member of Parliament Francis-Xavier Sosu a speedy recovery after he took ill while addressing students at the institution.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2026, during the Student Representative Council (SRC) Leadership Forum.
GIMPA said Sosu had been sharing his experience with students when he became unwell during his address.
In a statement issued in Accra on Thursday, the institution said it was grateful to the MP for engaging with its students.
“We were concerned when he took ill during his address, and we thank the Management, SRC executives and medical staff who responded promptly,” GIMPA said.
The institution said it had subsequently received an update from the MP’s office indicating that he was doing well and had received medical attention.
“GIMPA is glad to learn from his office that he is doing well and has received medical attention,” the statement said.
The institution also urged the public to rely on information from the MP’s office for updates on his condition.
“We wish him a full and speedy recovery and ask the public to rely on official information from his office,” GIMPA said.
Sosu, a lawyer and MP for Madina, was at GIMPA as part of the SRC Leadership Forum, which brought him into engagement with students before he became unwell.
GIMPA thanked those who responded to the incident and expressed hope that the legislator would make a full and speedy recovery.
