Firefighters have rescued a 35-year-old tipper truck driver who became trapped inside his vehicle after it overturned near the Customs Barrier in the Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region.
The truck, loaded at the time of the accident, was registered GG 4478-21.
The Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Station received the distress call and dispatched a six-member rescue team led by STNO1 Bright Atimbiok at 5:30 p.m.

The team arrived at the scene eight minutes later, at 5:38 p.m., and immediately began efforts to free the trapped driver, identified as Mr. Sulemana Nangne.
After nearly two hours of rescue operations, the firefighters successfully extricated Nangne from the vehicle at 7:21 p.m.
He was subsequently handed over to the Ambulance Service, which transported him to the Upper East Regional Hospital for medical attention.
The circumstances that led to the tipper truck overturning were not immediately provided.

The rescue operation highlights the role of emergency responders in freeing accident victims trapped in vehicles and ensuring they receive prompt medical attention.
