A domestic fire destroyed a three-chamber-and-hall self-contained apartment at Akweteyman, near 1Living God Preparatory School, after firefighters from the Legon Fire Station responded to an emergency alert late at night.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received the alert through the Fire Master Control (FMC), prompting firefighters to mobilise to the scene.

Firefighters arrived and immediately began firefighting operations. The blaze was brought under control at and completely extinguished.
According to the incident report, “Personal belongings in one three-chamber-and-hall self-contained apartment were totally burnt, while twelve other chamber-and-hall apartments and their contents were successfully salvaged.”

The firefighting operation prevented the flames from spreading to the other apartments in the building, helping to minimise the extent of property damage.
No casualties were recorded in the Akweteyman fire incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
