The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced filing fees for candidates seeking to contest various constituency-level positions in the party’s internal elections with candidates required to make all payments online.
According to the Director of Elections and IT, Mahdi Gibril, Chairman position attracts the highest filing fee of GHS5,000, while candidates for Vice Chairman, Secretary and Organizer are required to pay GHS3,000 each.
The filing fee for Communication Officer is GHS2,500, while candidates for Treasurer, Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Youth Organizer and Women’s Organizer will each pay GHS1,500.
Candidates for Deputy Secretary, Deputy Organizer, Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Communication Officer, Deputy Youth Organizer, Other Youth Representative and Deputy Women’s Organizer will pay GHS1,000 each.
The filing fee for the eight other constituency members has been set at GHS500.
In a statement Mahdi Gibril said concessions have been made for women and Persons With Disability(PWDs) candidates
The announced fees also provide concessions for female candidates andPWDs.
Female candidates and PWDs will pay 50 percent of the applicable filing fee for all positions, except the positions of Women’s Organizer and Deputy Women’s Organizer.
Female candidates who are also persons with disabilities will, however, pay 50 percent of the prescribed fees for the Women’s Organizer and Deputy Women’s Organizer positions.
