The Ministry of Education has appealed to the public to assist security agencies in locating a teacher at Bole Senior High School (SHS), identified as Arafat, who is reportedly on the run following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a student.
The appeal comes after a video circulated on social media allegedly showed the teacher engaging in inappropriate conduct with a student inside the school’s science laboratory.
According to the Ministry, the incident has been referred to the relevant security agencies for investigation, while efforts are underway to apprehend the teacher to assist with inquiries.
The Ministry described the allegations as deeply troubling and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of students in educational institutions across the country.
Officials have therefore called on members of the public with information regarding the whereabouts of the teacher to report to the police or other relevant authorities to facilitate his arrest.
The Ministry further assured the public that appropriate action would be taken in accordance with the law if the allegations are substantiated.
Meanwhile, investigations into the incident are ongoing as education authorities work closely with law enforcement agencies to establish the full circumstances surrounding the matter.
