Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana following a medical leave in the United Kingdom, where she received specialized treatment after an earlier consultation at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
Her return signals the end of a three-week medical leave that began on April 7, 2025. The Vice President had initially sought treatment at UGMC after a sudden illness on Friday, March 28, 2025.
Following medical advice, she travelled abroad to continue her recovery as a precautionary measure.

President John Dramani Mahama recently announced her imminent return during a “Thank You Tour” in Dodowa, Greater Accra Region.
Addressing a crowd, he said, “Bringing you greetings from Her Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. I’m happy to state that I spoke to her yesterday morning, and she’ll be back in the country before the end of next week. By God’s grace, she’s fully recovered and will return to her duties.”

The President also expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their continued support and prayers during the Vice President’s recovery.
With her return, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is expected to resume her official responsibilities in the coming days.
