A suspected hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a motorcyclist was apprehended on Monday, May 26, by former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, and his team.
According to eyewitness accounts, the motorcyclist was hit by a truck whose driver failed to stop after the incident.
Mr. Agyapong arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and discovered the lifeless body of the victim.
Without hesitation, the former MP and his team initiated a pursuit of the fleeing driver. They successfully intercepted the suspect and handed him over to the Assin Manso Police for further investigation.
The swift response by Mr. Agyapong has been praised by residents, who commended his decisive action in ensuring the suspect was brought to justice.
Police have since launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
