Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, has announced the passing of his father, Opanin Edward Kwabena Ofosu-Ampofo.
The sad news was shared in a Facebook post on Sunday, April 5, 2026, where Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo disclosed that his father died peacefully in the early hours of the day.
“It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I announce the passing of my beloved father, Opanin Edward Kwabena Ofosu-Ampofo. He passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, 5th April 2026,” he wrote.
He described his late father as a man of strong values and character, whose life impacted many, particularly his family and community.
“The late Opanin Edward Kwabena Ofosu-Ampofo was a man of great dignity, wisdom, and quiet strength. He lived a life marked by integrity, humility, and an unwavering commitment to family and community,” he added.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo further noted that his father’s guidance played a significant role in shaping the lives of his children and all who encountered him.
He concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of his father’s soul, adding that details of the funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
