The Embassy of Ghana in Tokyo has announced the arrival of Ghana’s Ambassador-designate to Japan, H.E. Mr. Humphrey C. Ajongbah, as he begins preparations to assume his diplomatic duties.
Ambassador-designate Ajongbah is a career diplomat with nearly three decades of experience in Ghana’s Foreign Service.
He brings extensive expertise in bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, having served at Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as in the country’s diplomatic missions in Guinea, Kenya, Switzerland, and Brazil.
Upon his arrival in Tokyo, the Ambassador-designate held his first engagement with staff of the Ghana Embassy, where he outlined his vision for his tenure and reaffirmed his commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and the promotion of Ghana’s interests in Japan.
He also pledged to work towards strengthening the longstanding friendship and mutually beneficial partnership between Ghana and Japan, with a focus on deepening cooperation between the two countries.
The Embassy welcomed Ambassador-designate Ajongbah and expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Ghanaian community, friends of Ghana, and other stakeholders to further enhance Ghana–Japan relations.
Ambassador-designate Ajongbah’s appointment is expected to build on the strong diplomatic ties between Ghana and Japan, which have over the years been anchored on cooperation in areas including trade, development, education, technology, and investment.
